Story: Emnpty Nest

So much anticipatin and expectation is riding on the next month during the 2008 Beijing Olympics. So will it live up to the hype? Having lived in China since 2007 I can confidently predict that yes, it will live up to expectations. Everything in China is done on a large, overpowering scale. From a country well aware of the impo9rtance of positive propaganda will come the most impressive visual display for a long time to come. However behind the masks and fanfare the substance leaves alot to be desired. There is something dilutory or even deflating in the way even mere supermarket openings turn into multi-hour events with no expense spared. I would suggets to all outsiders, the Olympics will be the best yet, but once this presentation is over, the substance, and indeed the ideals and goals preached of the exaltation of Man will fall silent, like coming 4th in the race, recieving no dais of recognition...
