This pub and brewery opened on St. Patrick's Day 2008 just outside Petco Park in downtown San Diego and is now one of the most popular hotspots in the neighborhood.

Self described as the “most fun loving sports pub in the world,” The Tilted Kilt has come roaring into San Diego in a perfect location just outside the right field fences at Petco Park. The franchise first started at the Rio Hotel in Las Vegas in 2003. Since its March opening in “America’s Finest City,” it’s a growing favorite among baseball fans, downtown residents and visitors alike. And its opening was very fittingly timed for St. Patrick’s Day during the city’s St. Patrick’s Day parade, one of the largest in the country.
Having heard rave reviews, when my Navy brother came in for a visit, I wanted to take him there. I was surprised to hear that among the chattering on the Internet while on his ship, the Navy folk were already telling each other they had to check it out and he was already aware of it. After a midweek Padres game where we didn’t quite make it before the game (there was wait according to a friend), we decided we needed to imbibe more food and beverages, we headed to the Kilt. The place, as expected was hopping, and we were greeted by a friendly hostess dressed in typical Kilt attire. We promptly were sat a table with full tv screens all around us. The energy was young and vibrant inside the eatery.
Since the time was around 10pm, and not really a typical meal time, it worked that the menu could suit any taste. My brother opted for The Philly Invasion Cheese Steak salad, which was listed as a Kilt original, featuring fresh greens with vine ripened tomatoes topped with cheese steak, basically the sandwich as a salad. My Dad chose the chili, which was topped with onions and cheese and from the first taste, he couldn’t stop telling us how much he thought it was the best chili he had had. I decided to honor my sweet tooth and chose a dessert with a name I couldn’t resist, The Tilted Guilt, which featured a huge fresh baked cookie topped with vanilla ice cream topped with chocolate sauce.
Other menu items include a large selection of classic burgers, wraps and sandwiches, and some originals such as the The Sloppy Jane, consisting of shaved deli meats on a bun with 1000 island dressing topped with cole slaw. You can also choose from other great named items such as Fat Bastard’s Meat Loak and Longshank’s Platter which features braised sausages topped with peppers and onions, and served with garlic mashed potatoes.
For a place who’s motto is “A Cold Beer Never Looked So Good,” you have to make sure to include a test of one of 24 beers on tap, including Tilted Kilt Premium Lager, Rogue Dead Guy Ale, and of course, Guinness Stout. They also feature cleverly names specialty drinks and shots, including a Celtic Crush, Tilted Tea and a Naughty Leprechaun.
The atmosphere inside the Tilted Kilt is fun and exciting, decorated with authentic Scottish, Irish, English and early American artifacts. The pub features 30 flat plasma tv screens, and 3 12 foot projection screens, always featuring the most happening sporting events on the channels. It’s a perfect place to grab a great bite to eat, meet some friends after work or catch your favorite sporting event

Thanks for the tip! We have The Titled Kilt in Arizona. I've been hesitant to check it out. I've been to the UK and experienced a true "pub crawl," so I guess I'm kind of biased. My sister will be visiting from Ohio. I could take her to The Tilted Kilt in Tempe, AZ. Rebecca
