Close to Cusco and even closer to the great Machu Picchu lays another Inca plender. The Terraces of Quechomuyo lays in the middle of the Secret Valley and were used as a greenhouse for acclimatizing plants to the Andes.

Unfortunatly it was closed every time I visited it.
Totally broke we jump into the next adventure. From Ekok, just across the border we find a driver who is willing to help us to get to the closest bank, which is in Kumba, a city a couple of hours north of Duala. If we arrive there we can pay him the money for the trip. The roads in Nigeria were bad but the roads here in Cameroon are just beyond comprehension. Because of the rainy season and the heavy traffic the roads are in terrible condition. With an overloaded car we hop from one hole into the other. Some of the holes are so deep and so wide that the entire car disappears in it. More than often we have to get out of the car to make it possible for the vehicule to carry on. Also from time to time we have to help other cars who have stranded. The time pass es and it is clear that we are not gonna make it to the banks in Kumba before closure time. After a rollercoaster ride of twelve hours we arrive in Kumba in the middle of the night. Our chauffeur invites us to his house to sleep there so we can exchange the money for him at the bank tomorrow.
Don't expact to get Esso coins when getting gas for your car in the north-west of Cameroon.
The filling stations out here are nothing more then a bunch of glass bottles containing gas.
For a nickel and a dime you can fill up your car.
