The Big Thompson River brings
freshly melted snow down to the valley communities from the Rocky Mountains.
I had spent an hour photographing this pair of male bighorn sheep hitting each other. There were about 30 ewes located about 75 yards up the canyon wall.
A 15 second exposure at dusk gives the Poudre River a smooth appearance. River levels are very low in October.
The rising sun reaches the high points while leaving the valley between the dune in shadow.
A morning photography hike to the top of one of the tallest dunes took a little over an hour. The view is definately worth the effort.
