You can get really quite close to the grizzlies. They are more interested in the salmon than you, so they come right up to the river on the other side. Our guard, eh, guide took this photo, but in order to do so, he had to put down his shotgun!

Bodie was one of the first cities in the west to have electricity. This ancient generator provided electricity to Bodie. It was run by a waterwheel on a mountain stream nearby.

The town has been left in a state of controlled decay since it was abandoned. Most buildings still have their original furnishings. Here, in a house used as a mortuary, one can see caskets still on display.

I am an amateur photographer - and have been for about 50 years. I always carry a camera with me, documenting the things I see and like, or just find interesting, often funny or strange.

I have been involved in capturing sports car racing for all that time and am now donating all my old collections to the Watkins Glen, NY International Motor Racing Research Library. I'm also curating others' collections.
