Story written 29 March 2008
The UK is a restrictive place. I know that when I die I'll never be able to have my Viking funeral so…
Once caught and gutted octopus are beaten (usually against the quayside) to tenderise the meat, then hung in the sun for a few hours prior to cooking.
Kalymnian architecture
Tucked away in the back streets I found a this wonderful gateway and staircase.
Even on Kalymnos people need to sit down, taken outside a taverna where spring cleaning was underway.
The older generation on Kalymnos swim in the early morning for exercise. I saw this lady walk out to her swim and noticed the light start to increase. After setting up the camera for fast bracket, I waited for her to return. The light illuminated her headscarf beautifully.
