Cadillac Ranch

Cadillac Ranch

Located on Old Route 66 in Stanley Marsh III's wheat field was built in 1974. Marsh and The Ant Farm, a San Francisco art collective, assembled used Cadillacs representing the "Golden Age" of American Automobiles. In 1997 the vehicles were dug up and moved 2 miles west of Amarillo because of the developing city.
In 2005, the Cadillacs were painted pink in a tribute to breast cancer victims. People are encouraged to bring their own spray paint as there is a dumpster by the fence where you go in.

Big Bend National Park

Big Bend National Park

Big Bend National Park is located in Southern Texas, USA along 245 miles of the Mexico/USA border. Big Bend is one of the largest, most remote, and least-visited national parks in the lower 48. It offers overnight camping, hiking, backpacking, and tours of the river. It is interesting to note that there are border patrol on roads going in and out of the park. Also when I was there I've never seen stars like that ever. It is pretty far away from major cities so it would be a great place for astrophotography.

The Land Before Time - Vermilion Cliffs National Monument

The Land Before Time - Vermilion Cliffs National Monument

The Vermilion Cliffs are the second "step" up in the five-step Grand Staircase of the Colorado Plateau. Reddish or vermilion-colored cliffs are found along U.S. Highway 89 and U.S. Highway 89A near Kanab, Utah (and near Navajo Bridge in Arizona). They extend from a location near Page, Arizona, west for a considerable distance, in both Arizona and Utah. In the spring, after a good winter rain, the valley between Highway 89 and the Vermilion Cliffs will be covered with a carpet of desert mallow and other spring flowers. The point where this shot was taken theres a scenic overlook. It really has the Land Before Time feel to it.

From the Top of Yellowstone

From the Top of Yellowstone

To get this shot I took two separate photos, one bright and one dark and I overlapped them when I got home. It captured what I was seeing so I was thrilled when the photo came out.

Bryce Canyon National Park

Bryce Canyon National Park

Bryce Canyon National Park is located in southern Utah. Bryce is distinctive due to its geological structures, called hoodoos, formed from wind, water, and ice erosion of the river and lake bed sedimentary rocks. Bryce actually isn't a canyon at all but its one of the most spectacular sites I've ever seen.

I'm Lizzie, a freelance photographer in Louisville, Kentucky. I shoot a lot of pictures horizontally and need to shoot more vertically. I'm a great story teller and a horrible writer.

I'm a good cook but I have never been able to successfully cook a box of Rice A Roni.
