Lizzie’s travelogue

Historic Bok Sanctuary

Historic Bok Sanctuary offers visitors Florida's most abundant

opportunities for aesthetic, cultural and personal enrichment.

The lush landscapes of the Olmsted gardens, the majesty and music

of the carillon tower and the splendor of Pinewood Estate

create an experience that inspires all who visit.

Yellowstone National Park

Yellowstone National Park in north west Wyoming is a definite National landmark. So much to see in this gem of a land.

Palo Duro Canyon

Palo Duro Canyon is a canyon system of the Caprock Escarpment in the Panhandle of Texas (USA). As the second largest canyon in the United States, it is roughly 120 miles long and has an average width of 6 miles, but reaches a width of 20 miles at places.

Great Sand Dunes National Monument

Great Sand Dunes National Park is located near Alamosa, Colorado, USA. The dunes cover 30 square miles and are located at the foot of the Sangre de Cristo Mountains.

Bryce Canyon National Park

Incredible spires and outcroppings created by erosion in the red rock region of Utah

Kyoto

The seat of government of old Japan. A place of tradition and wonderful sights, sounds, and food!

Kinkakuji

The official name of this temple is Rokuonji.

The original, in all its ostentatious glory, was constructed by the shogun Ashikaga Yoshimitsu in the 1300's, but this incarnation is much more recent: The previous structure was burned to the ground by a disgruntled monk in 1950.

The Elrod House

John Lautner's incredible desert house for Arthur Elrod. A massive concrete roof hung over an indoor outdoor pool with boulders in the living room makes the house feel sort of like a super modern cave.

Monument Valley

One of the most quintessential American Landscapes, the almost alien rock formations of Monument Valley have been featured in many many westerns. The director John Ford was one of the first people to help popularize the valley, bringing a great deal of interest to the area.
