Today (7/2/08) the Asbury Park Press (http://www.app.com) reported that Marie Castello (a.k.a. - Madam Marie) passed away this past Friday - June 27, 2008. As I had gone by her place over the past couple days, I noticed a well kept facility, but no keeper at the booth. I also noticed that the flag over the Convention Center had been flying at half mast. Today I learned that this had been done as a tribute to her memory.

A view of the Wonder Bar in Asbury Park, New Jersey on the Jersey Shore. It remains to be seen if it has been reopened, but there does appear to be signs of life based on a recent morning visit to the area.

Formerly the site of a Howard Johnson's on the boardwalk in Asbury Park, this building now houses Tim McLoone's Supper Club (upstairs) and the Salt Water Beach Cafe.

Tim McLoone's Supper Club (upstairs) and the Salt Water Beach Cafe (downstairs) now occupy the classic former home of Howard Johnson's on the Asbury Park Boardwalk on the Jersey Shore. Stay tuned for reviews as the upstairs just opened on June 27th (2008).
