The street this shrine sits off of is a major pipeline for Atlanta drivers. All day and night it is populated with traffic while also cutting through one of the city's oldest and poorer neighborhoods. Adults and children walk back and forth across this busy strip. This is one of a couple homages to children who have gotten hit while playing near or crossing the street.
I'm not sure if the mastectomies they are referring to are indeed the surgical ones, but it's an interesting concept, nonetheless.
In the foothills if the Appalachian Mountains on the boarder of Tennessee and Kentucky there is a little town called Thompkinsville. A charming, down home feel fills the air and the beauty of Kentucky is all around.
If the sign is gated, the inside must look like a fort.
In the south, charm is all around you. Kentucky oozes charm and comfort. I found myself one holiday in a small town in Kentucky and found it to be more interesting then unnerving, as the south sometimes is.
In the little town of Holly Springs, MS there lives a man who is such a huge Elvis fan, he turned his big old house into shrine called Graceland Too. Any time, day or night, you can go and get a walking tour of his house and hear stories about the king as well as strange stories he tells about himself and family. Go, but never alone.
