The classic Jerban Ibadite mosque. it is no longer used for prayers, so it is possible to go in and look around. Inside it also has an underground cistern which in the past was used as a flour mill.
The old town in Panama city feels like it has stood still for decades. There is a real nice pace of life. You kind of get sucked in walking around and people tend not to like being disturbed from the daily rituals.

I have been going to Connemara National Park in Galway all my life. December and January is when it is at it's most stunning - the trade off is weather. Atlantic storms can be pretty dramatic, but tend to keep you indoors or car bound. On this particular day the weather broke and the wind dropped. We sat for ages watching the clouds slip over the peak and into the valley.
Walking around the San Telmo market in Buenos Aires jet- lagged and wet I was finding it hard to lift the camera to my face. It showered again for the fourth time and we stepped under a tarp for shelter. Next door two men were negotiating the price of a small tank.
We spend a lot of time in the Adirondaks Wilderness Area in upstate New York. It is the complete opposite to NYC. Last summer we arrived on our island camp site to a beautiful summer sunset. Just after pitching everything went quiet, wind, wildlife and us. What followed was one of the loudest thunder and lightening storms we have ever sat through.
