The Art Institute of Chicago is one of the art galleries you simply cannot bypass. This attraction alone is worth a trip to Chicago!

After you have finished a filling brunch feel free to go and lie on the lush green grass of the museum gardens.

Chicago skyline

One of the best things you can do in Chicago on a sunny spring day is take a bike ride down the lakeside promenade. Ride down towards Soldier Field and you will get some spectacular views of the city skyline.

Afternoon gathering

Four old ladies getting together for a late lunch at Canters. The scene was almost comical... they reminded me of Fran's mother from "The Nanny".

Eat meat...

Eat meat...

Make sure that you come hungry. Portions are massive and sandwiches are great! Best thing is... they come with a choice of 3 different mustards!

Lighthouse closed

Lighthouse closed

Sometimes when you are travelling, you end up taking too many stops to snap photos and you show up at a major attraction after it has already closed. If you are in the middle of nowhere, don't be surprised if the closing time is 3:30pm! Check these things in advance!

Night setting over the lighthouse

Night setting over the lighthouse

Late in the evening we came across Yaquina Head Lighthouse, just as the sun was setting and cold winds from the Pacific Ocean were sweeping over the barren landscape. I froze my fingers snapping this picture!

Dead trees

Dead trees

One of the most fascinating things that you experience in Yellowstone is how nature regenerates right before your eyes. Several years ago, there was a massive forest fire that swept through the park and destroyed many trees. Luckily, nature regenerates and new trees spring up.

In this particular spot, trees grew near a sulphur pit and died as the pit started expanding...

Everywhere you go in Yellowstone, you will come across different wild animals roaming the park. Be careful which ones you approach. Some of them are very friendly, and some of them can be very dangerous.
