Would you like to immerse yourself in culture and art while escaping the confines of the everyday life? How about a vacation on a budget?
Another musically inclined street singer in downtown Asheville, NC. Almost as frequent as the art galleries and street artwork, were these people, trying to pick up a few extra bucks.
Taken in downtown Asheville. This group, setup outside a local music joint, was pleasuring earholes.
After my wife and I woke up and went swimming at the hotel, we hit the streets looking for breakfast. The tall buildings sucked the sharp, windy cold in to the bottom of the street and wouldn't let it go. So it was nice to escape into the Early Girl Eatery.
Asheville was crowded, but not over-crowded. It still afforded people enough green space and quiet that you could actually sit down and think.
A classic car in a classic city. Both with a lot of wear and tear, but character. Asheville was a great place to visit.
There were many homeless, all of which seemed to be musically gifted as just about all of them had a guitar. I like this shot as it shows just how opposite people can be. They both know the other is there but never really acknowledge it. There was a lot of this in Asheville.
Inside some of the shopping areas. The interior reminded me of the main promenade on a cruise ship for some strange reason. Everything was extremely intricate, down to the lettering carved on the walls.
