I flew into Cebu city at 2 in the morning, and killed the four hour wait for the ferry in the bar, when I got closer to Bohol this was the scene off the back of the boat, the first beautiful morning to what was an even greater trip.
On a Jeepney in the Philippines
This woman and I crossed paths on a stroll into central Pongloa. She was so kind and wanted to talk and talk. She was more than happy to have me take her picture, and loved being able to see it immediately on the camera. A good representation of the type of kind happy people that you meet in the Philippines.
I met and spent a night with these young Filipino "scooter gang" We talked about their feelings towards the influx of tourists on their small Island. Maybe gave them a little purpose to their anger. I learned their handshake and was provided non needed safe escort services, I think it was just fun for all of us. Great People!
This picture was taken at sunrise on Alona Beach, on Ponglao Island in the Philippines. It is one of the most amazingly beautiful beaches in the world. The Filipinos are the nicest, most kind people that I have ever encountered in all of my travels. I strongly recommend visiting this great country!!
Every year in Santa Monica the War Veterans for peace place a visual protest of the Iraqi Occupation by placing a cross on the beach for every soldier killed.
Every year in next to the Pier in Santa Monica there is a large protest of the Iraqi occupation, where the veterans for peace place a cross in the sand for each soldier who has lost their life in this war. I believe her mother was there to place a cross for her father.

I am a traveler. I have been on the go since I was a young child. I have spent much of my life in one place or another. I lived in the same house from birth till 18, my parents still live there, it almost burnt down. I have set foot on many countries, but not many at one time. I read "on the road" when I was a junior in college, and have forever since been bit by that mischievous little bug that poisons you, so that you are never satisfied with where you are at, and always miss where...
