I'd love to know what this old lady is pondering, sitting at her window in Pisa. She looks to be a world away.

I see the light

I see the light

Inside St Peter's Basilica this single shaft of light shone through one of the skylights. I'd love to go back and get a perfect shot of these, wide enough to show where it hits the floor. Moving.

Looking down the river toward the Ponte Vecchio on a beautiful spring day in Florence.

Every afternoon whilst I was in Riomaggiore these lovely old Italian women would come and sit here.

Boiling Oil

Boiling Oil

Apparently not only a good place to store grain, when under attack, the people of San G would retreat to the towers and pour boiling oil from the towers onto the attackers. Nice.
Only one the towers is able to be climbed (2007). A very scenic, if touristy, town of Tuscany.

Positano storm

Positano storm

A summer storm rolling in over Positano, not the best tourist weather but certainly a dramatic backdrop to an already dramatic town.

Summer in Rome. Heading back to my hotel near the Vatican at about 8pm.
