A few weeks before Many Glacier Hotel opens for the busy summer season, Swiftcurrent Lake lies calm. In May 2007, I snapped this shot after driving around the southern perimeter of Montana's Glacier National Park to reach this nearly people free zone. Located near Babb, Montana on the eastern border of the park, the lodge was still effectively blocked off from internal park traffic by late spring's snow-covered roads. Each year, the 93-year-old lodge typically begins its season in early June.
