Triumph of the Wheels

Triumph of the Wheels

Fear not!
For the jaunty racers of BYOBW return annually to race their incredible vehicles down whatever crooked street needs saving.

Conservatory of Flowers

Conservatory of Flowers

One of the many specimens you will see when visiting the conservatory of flowers at Golden Gate park in San Francisco.

Mourning Cloak Caterpillars

Mourning Cloak Caterpillars

I realize these won't give a wonderful sense of context to anyone but entomologists, but I couldn't resist showing off one of the many things you will see around Gunnison, Colorado.

Wild Strawberries

Wild Strawberries

Along the banks of the Taylor river near Almont, Colorado you will find these tiny gems.

Strawberries were nearing the end of the season so these were wonderfully ripe when we found them.

Sunset on the Taylor

Sunset on the Taylor

Above the Taylor reservoir outside of Almont, Colorado lies a beautiful stretch of largely undisturbed water.

After a long day of fly fishing this is the sight that says goodbye as I headed home to relax.

The Pond

The Pond

This large pond was formed by a tremendous feat of animal engineering. The beaver dam on one edge has created a haven for fishermen and peace seekers.

I try to return here each year to recharge and feel the mud between my toes as I wade out into the lake.

Aspens below the Beaver Pond

Aspens below the Beaver Pond

The industrious beaver seems to have an appreciation for beauty that few humans ever appreciate. This view is a short hike from the trailhead on the way to a secluded beaver pond outside of Gunnison, Colorado.

Not Friendly to all

Not Friendly to all

Georgia O'keefe would have appreciated the views alongside the Cochetopa river. Colorado can be unforgiving to some, but if you're willing to see the beauty, it is everywere.

Cochetopa Sky

Cochetopa Sky

If you know where to look in Colorado, this is a sight that will greet you. The feathery clouds and beautiful waters hide a short journey outside of Gunnison, Colorado off of State highway 114

I am your typical I.T. Professional that somehow found his way there after practicing historical preservation architecture and various other design disciplines. I rarely find time to rest considering the amount of opportunity to see the world changing around me.

I am fascinated with the culture, history, art and of course architecture of everywhere around me and love to document it with the lens and pen.
