A sensory feast can be found in Istanbul's historic shopping districts. This is the ultimate city for souvenir shopping.
Located in the Nisantasi district. Istanbul's Rodeo Drive is a tree-lined boulevard featuring designer boutiques. A Turkish flag with a superimposed portrait of Ataturk from street vendors positioned among the expensive shops could be the perfect souvenir to take home from Istanbul.
For outfitting your futuristic control center. Shopping Istanbul doesn't necessarily mean it all has to be Turkish textiles.
There are more things to indulge in than spices at the spice bazaar. You can pick a tangy, salty lunch to eat while you browse the stalls.
Cast resin gears, for what I don't know, but I could have bought one in each size and hue.
Plastic plates, bowls and serving trays galore in this store located on a street outside of the Grand Bazaar where many other plastic related products were for sale.
A multitude of embellished sweaters and t-shirts in sherbet colors.
Istanbul's Ramazan festival had many booths selling different items. This one sold soaps that looked like very realistic fruits. They give you a basket similar to one used to purchase produce and then you pick out the fruit you want, then they wrap them up to make a gift basket.
The streets surrounding the Blue Mosque have many rug galleries to shop at. The proprietors usually offer you apple tea while they show off their rug collection hoping to entice you to purchase one. The cost of a rug usually includes shipping to your home abroad.
Not all stalls sell spices. Some sell embroidered textiles, leather goods and jewelry.
