A View From Mount Constitution

A View From Mount Constitution

The highest point of the San Juan Islands is Mount Constitution in Moran State Park at 2,409 feet. In 1936, the Civilian Conservation Corp built the observation tower from which this photo was taken. In the background to the right you can see Mount Baker which is part of the Cascade Mountain Range.

Lake Crescent Lodge

Lake Crescent Lodge

Lake Crescent Lodge in Olympic National Park was built in 1916. The lodge was originally called "Singers Tavern." In addition to the lodge, there are classic motel and cottage lodging facilities. The lodge also has dining facilities overlooking Lake Crescent. Relax in an adirondack chair, take a boat for a paddle on the lake, hike any number of trails, or simply kick back and take in all that nature has to offer in this pacific northwest treasure.

I am middle-aged. That alone scares the hell out of me. Work tends to get in the way of the travel desires of my partner and I. There are too many places to visit and not enough time or money. We strive to take 2 trips a year, one domestic & one outside the US. The world's an amazing place; we plan to see as much of it as we possibly can!
