I encountered these two dressed in full business attire including briefcases, cellphones and suitbag in the middle of the playa. They were looking for a ride to the airport. I loved their dedication at 100 degrees F, and the tongue in cheek understatement of their outfits, in an environment where most people wore sequins, pink fur, skintight lycra or nothing at all.
Walking the streets of Antigua, Guatemala at 6 am in April 2006, with my Holga. I was looking for a good cup of coffee. A newspaper vendor had taken up position in the corner, and the famous Chicken busses were rattling down the cobble-stoned streets -- so named because one can encounter quite a bit of livestock while riding them. Later, at the airport on my way home, I said to the security agent: "This is film, pelicula, don't xray, ok?" and he said: "Ok, ok, no problema signora" Then he took the bag and put it right through the x-ray machine. What was I to do at that point? But I kind of like the way the photo turned out.
