What a way to spend a few days...the Lunar New Year's celebrations in Hong Kong, China.
ONe of the most exciting twenty minutes you'll ever spend...watching the annual Lunar New Year's fireworks celebration in Hong Kong.
The most spectacular parade I ever watched is the annual Lunar New Year's Parade in Hong Kong sponsored by Cathay Pacific Airways. More marching bands, stilt walkers, dancers, and unique floats than you can pack into a hour or so.
Temple worshippers light sticks of incense so the smoke will help bring their prayers to their gods in the heavens.
At Lantau Island near Hong Kong, the largest sitting bronze Buddha is greeted year round by locals and tourists, especially during the Lunar New Year period in February.
From the fifth floor at the Hotel du Palais in Biarritz, France, you get the sun, sea, and local setting all framed from the nautical porthole window. The building was originally the summer home of Napoleon III and after fire and rebuilding and remodeling, it now has about 150 rooms, a new Gurelain Spa, and for my money, the best room with a view in all of Europe.
