Experiencing Iraq from the ramp of a U.S. Marine helicopter
One of the rare moments of beauty in the middle of a desert is always the sunsets. They are unlike anything else I have seen in the world.
My normal view out the back of my helicopter while we where heading out west over the Al Anbar Provence. Not much to it at all.
I really enjoyed looking down on the little towns that bordered on both sides of the Euphrates. They would be laid out in neat blocks but never made it far from the river.
Doing what I do best, I spent seven months like this crouched down behind my .50 keeping an eye out.
