Becky’s travelogue

Peles Castle

The Peles Castle is situated near the city of Sinaia, some 130 km (80 mi) north of Romania’s capital, Bucharest. It has been built between 1873 and 1883 as the summer retreat for King Carol I of Romania, and is the world's first castle fully operated by electric power.

Pagan (Bagan)

Pagan (also known as Bagan) is located 118 miles south of Mandalay and 430 miles north of Yangon. It is hemmed in by the Irrawwady on the north and west and encompasses approximately 16 sq miles.

Taj Exotica Resort & Spa Maldives

The Taj Exotica Maldives is a 5 star resort located on a private island of white sand and lush foliage surround by warm turquoise waters. They boast over-water villas, some with their own plunge pools.

Taktsang Lhakhang

Taktsang Lhakhang, also known as the Tiger's Nest is one of the most important religious sites in the Himalaya. This monastery clings to a vertical granite cliff 2,000 ft above Paro valley's floor.

Egyptian Bazaar

Just off the famous Galata bridge in the Eminönü neighboordhoud a big and old market-hall stands in front of you, Istanbul's Egyptian Bazaar. This spice market was built in 1664 and is filled with exotic fragrances such as spices, dried fruits, nuts and seeds, lokum (Turkish Delight).

Princes Island

Located in the Sea of Marmara an hour's ferry ride from Istanbul, Princes Island is free of motorized traffic. Horse-drawn buggies are used to haul construction materials and tourists alike.

Jarra's Ethiopian Restaurant

Jarra's has nuzzled its way into my list of favorite places to eat in Portland. They open at 4:30pm for dinner, the owner is the only waiter (so don't plan on making i a quick meal), but he's so friendly that the slow service doesn't even matter.

MokSana Yoga Studio

MokSana is one of Victoria's most successful yoga studios. It offers yoga classes 7 days a week, workshops, and a teacher training program several times a year.

Kruger's Farm

Kruger's Farm is an awesome pick-it-yourself farm. Of course the offerings vary by season - berry picking in the summer, pumpkins in the fall, etc.

Becky Timbers

Becky Timbers has been a member since 27 January 2008 and goes by whereonearth07.

Currently in Alaska.

I am a photographer, writer, traveler, outdoorist, yogi, cook, liberal vegan... I hate trying to explain who I am in under 100 words, but those are some of my greatest passions. I love to travel and my dream job is to be a photographer for National Geographic, but right now I'm settling for shooting and writing about the amazing places of Hawaii while soaking up the sun and sand.
