Beirut Rafic Hariri International Airport; Nov. 2007

Beirut Rafic Hariri International Airport (formerly Beirut International Airport) in Beirut, Lebanon is the only operational commercial airport in the country. It is the hub for Lebanon's national carrier, Middle East Airlines (MEA).

In its 55+ years in operation, BRHIA has been nearly- destroyed countless times. Most recently, all 3 runways of the airport sustained significant damage from Israeli missile strikes during the July 2006 Lebanon War.

In September 2006, regular flights resumed and a reconstructed-BRHIA was once again open.
Beirut now has a world-class facility which is ranked among the top airports in the Middle East.
