The Stone Pony is in its third incarnation in Asbury Park, New Jersey. Originally opened in 1974, groups that played in the earlier years included Southside Johnny and the Asbury Jukes, Patti Scialfa, and Cats on a Smooth Surface.

Oh yes... Bruce Springsteen also used to play there from time to time. Of note, the Born in the USA tour kicked off at the Stone Pony. As for the album "Greetings from Asbury Park," it came out in early 1973, about a year before the Pony's opening.

Today, the Stone Pony continues to rock in Asbury Park, New Jersey!
