The "blue mosque" is located in Tabriz, north-western Iran. It was built in 1465, during the reign of Sultan Y‘aqub ibn Uzun Hassan, from the Ak Koyunlu tribe. The mosque was destroyed by an earthquake in 1778, leaving only the entrance iwan (porticco). That landmark has been under restoration now and then since early XXth century.
