Photo: The Point Cabrilllo Lighthouse

When your 4 day escape from the busy city to Mendocino begins to feel 2 days too granola, escape a few minutes north to the Point Cabrillo Lighthouse. It's a 30 minute walk to the lighthouse from the parking lot. It's best appreciated that way. By the time you get there, the red roof, and beaming gold candle light stands out alone like the beacon that it is. This is my favorite place in all of the Mendocino coast. My wife and I sat on the cliffs listening to the ocean for not nearly long enough.
