Charred tree limbs on the northern slopes of Mount Robert, in Nelson Lakes National Park, New Zealand.
Mount Robert sits on the shore of Lake Rotoiti, in Nelson Lakes National Park. It is a quick drive from St Arnaud, and you can park either at the lake, or a few hundred meters up the mountain. The carpark offers great views of Lake Rotoiti and surrounds; but for a bit more altitude, try the half-day Mount Robert Circuit. The track weaves in and out of beech forest and has no shortage of scenic vistas.
