The Mackinac Bridge connects the Lower and Upper peninsulas of Michigan and spans across the Straits of Mackinac. The bridge is also known as the Big Mac or Mighty Mac and is one of the longest two tower suspension bridges between anchorages in the Western Hemisphere. It opened on Nov. 1, 1957.
