Antigua sits in the shadow of of the spectacular Volcán de Agua (Volcano of Water), and is in the central highlands of Guatemala. Spanish conquistadors founded the city in 1543. A series of earthquakes destroyed much of the town in 1773, but you will find the ruins fun to explore and the visitors from all around the world good company.
