Lake Wakatipu is a scenic lake in southern New Zealand. With the Dart, Kawarau and Shotover rivers all accessible from the lake, it sees a lot of jetboat traffic - but if you're after something a bit more sedate, you can try for a cruise aboard historic steamer TSS Earnslaw. Deer Park Heights, outside Queenstown, offers great views of Lake Wakatipu, as well as local mountain range The Remarkables.
