Point Prim Reflections

Low tide at Point Prim Lighthouse on Prince Edward Island.

About this place:

Point Prim is Prince Edward Island's oldest lighthouse, built in 1845 and is 80' above sea level. It is also the only round and only brick lighthouse to be found on the island. It is open in the summer for climbing and the site is open year round to visit.

Point Prim was a fairly easy lighthouse to find on PEI, just drive until the road ends and you are there! With my last stop being at Cabot Beach at High Tide, I was quite shocked to see how quickly the tide can go out and how low the tide gets on Prince Edward Island. I immediately ran out onto the rocky beach and took some shots of the lighthouse and its reflections in the tidal pond. A definite unique perspective for a lighthouse!
