Old Tucson Studios

Old Tucson Studios

Where over 300 westerns were filmed. This is the mission from the beginning of Tombstone.

About this place:

Over 300 of these movies were filmed at Old Tucson Studios on the west side of town. Anyone who has seen a classic western like RIo Bravo, The Outlaw Josey Wales, The Gunfight at the O.K. Corral, or Tombstone, would feel a familiarity at Old Tucson Studios. This place is a dream to photograph as that is basically what it was designed for. There are fantastic views of old missions, saloons, brothels, churches, train stations and general stores. later in the day they do gunfights in the streets which ends up being a little over produced but kids seem to love it. Get there early before the thousands of other people show up and crowd all of the shots. Plus if you get there early they play an incredible soundtrack in the parking lot of Ennio Morricone tracks.
