Place to see: Grauman's Chinese Theatre, Los Angeles, California, United States

Flash Mob

Flash Mob

On the occasion of Johnny Depp's hand and footprint ceremony in 2005, I wandered down to Grauman's Chinese Theatre to get a taste of some true, unapologetic Hollywood mania. In addition to an across-the-street glimpse of Johnny Depp, I got an eyeful of other people's viewfinders, feverish fans dressed like Willy Wonka and Edward Scissorhands and more than a few elbows thrown in the name of celebrity adoration.

About this place:

Love it, hate it, but there's no denying that Grauman's Chinese theatre is a premier stop on the Hollywood tourist circuit. The theatre has been carrying the torch of Hollywood spectacle since 1927 and although there are fewer movie premiers held there these days, the collection of celebrity foot and hand prints in the sidewalk outside never fails to draw a crowd.

What's more Hollywood than that?
