The best corned beef and pastrami in New York, a city with pastrami and corned beef on every corner, is served 24 hours a day at the Second Avenue Deli. It may not actually be on Second Avenue anymore, but the new name-defying outlet on 33rd and 3rd still serves some of the finest/heaviest Jewish Deli fare in the city.

About this place:

Arguably the best corned beef and pastrami in New York, a city with pastrami and corned beef on every corner, is served 24 hours a day at the Second Avenue Deli. It's a Jewish deli in the classic style, which means they serve the chopped livers and tongues of the Old Country almost as often as those mouthwatering New York staple sandwiches of house-cured beef. And like any great $14 sandwich, 2nd Avenue's pastrami and corned beef comes with an endless supply of garlic pickles, fresh coleslaw and grievenes (fried chicken skin with onions). It may not actually be on Second Avenue anymore, but the new name-defying outlet on 33rd and 3rd still serves some of the finest/heaviest Jewish Deli fare in the city. Take the number 6 train and prepare yourself for a long table wait.
