Rush Hour on Prince's Island

Rush Hour on Prince's Island

No motorized traffic interferes with life on Prince's Island, a short ferry ride from the teeming throngs of Istanbul.

About this place:

Located in the Sea of Marmara an hour's ferry ride from Istanbul, Princes Island is free of motorized traffic. Horse-drawn buggies are used to haul construction materials and tourists alike. Bicycles can be rented from the area near the ferry landing. A ride around the island offers views of 18th century villas, pine-covered rolling hills against sea vistas, and horses grazing in open fields.
