About this place:

What makes a great beach? Privacy, sun, sand, a nice swimming area and places to explore. Red Sand Beach has it all. Located in Hana on the east coast of Maui, Red Sand Beach is a little difficult to find, but the extra trek is more than worth it. If you're sensitive to Adam and Eve portraits, this may not be the best choice for you.

If I could have one beach in my backyard, Red Sand Beach in Hana, Maui would be it. Private, beautiful and rejuvenating, it is the epitome of paradise. The turquoise blue waters, protected resolutely by tall jagged pillars of solidified lava rock are calm and welcoming compared to the frothy turbulence outside the bay. It's a bit tricky to get there, you must traipse down a steep path beside a Japanese cemetery then walk along a narrow wooded path before the bay opens up before you. Beware, nudity is often the going fashion.
