The only way to get to the Dalhousie Springs is by 4WD. It's situated in the middle of the Simpson Desert.

About this place:

In the middle of the Simpson Desert, after many miles of dirt road, we bumped into an oasis called Dalhousie Springs. It's already dark when we arrive and the temperature drops swiftly. The springs are just incredible. They are so warm that they take all the energy out of you. The best thing to do is to lie in a tube and float around.
Because of the presence of the springs it is a very green place and there is a fair bit of wildlife. Next to lots of birds and an amazing amount of irritating flies there are two full blood dingo's wandering around.

The Desert is during daytime steaming hot but during the night the temperature drops dramatically.
I sleep outside in a 'swag' which is an oversized and extra warm sleepingbag made out of sturdy material.
My body stays relatively warm in the swag but in the morning the cap I'm wearing appears to be frozen.
