Kite Beach, just outside of Cabarete in the Dominican Republic, is known as one of the best beaches in the world for the emerging sport of kite surfing. After several attempts, I was successful at catching this surfer as he jumped a wave and floated through the air.

    While in the Dominican Republic with my girlfriend, we signed up for one of the touristy day-long excursions to see more of the country than our all-inclusive resort. A highlight of the tour was an hour of boogie boarding but while at the beach we were also treated to some impressive views of kite surfers showing off their tricks. Kite Beach is one of the top beaches in the world for kite surfing and it is literally packed with surfers on any given day. Maybe on my next trip, I'll get out there and try it myself.
