Actually, the park extends over the border with Kenia, where it changes its name in "Masai Mara". Twice a year the area is theatre to one of the most spectacular natural shows on earth: the wildebeest migration.

We had been driving for more than one hour on our evening game drive, but we didn't see much wildlife on that day. On our way back to the campsite, we saw some vultures flying in circle up in the sky. The driver promptly took us there, and when we arrived we found a dead Kudu antelope laying on the ground. More vultures were already sitting at the banquet and some marabu storks were standing, waiting for their turn. But suddenly one hyena came out of the bush, boasting her higher rank in the predator hierarchy and chased the vultures away, claiming the right to feed on the carcass.
