In recent years, Saudi Arabian benefactors have paid for the construction of mosques throughout the country of Kyrgyzstan. Most are nothing architecturally special. However, the Naryn Mosque, built with Saudi money in 1993, is definitely something worth seeing. It was built in the shape of a giant kalpak - a traditional Kyrgyz hat - making it rather unique.
