Place to eat: Tan Taran Tan, Barcelona, Spain

About this place:

The Pedralbes neighborhood may be a hike from the city center, but it’s a worthwhile trek for a pizza at Tan-taran-tan. Their menu lists ten pizzas, each named for a European city—the standout Barcelona pizza comes with cheese and jamon serrano. The crust is thin, the toppings generous. Since the pizza at other Barcelona restaurants is usually doughy, bland, and prepackaged, don’t be surprised if you have to wait for a table at Tan-taran-tan. Pizza is the reason to come, but you can also order salads, pasta, and crepes. The restaurant itself is small and cozy, with bright yellow walls and tables and sea-blue paper placemats and napkins. Best of all, nothing on the menu is more than €7. You have to work hard to spend more than €10 for a complete meal here.
