Moosilauke Mountain, New Hampshire
Mount Moosilauke is a 4,802 mountain in New Hampshire's White Mountains. The Appalachian Trail passes over the mountain. Moosilauke is owned and its trails maintained by Dartmouth College, the northernmost of the Ivy League schools. The college also owns and operates a historic ravine lodge on the mountains southeast side. The mountain's name is believed to come from the tree-less nature of its summit as in the local Native-American language, "moosi" means bald and "auke" means place.
