Azur is hands down the best place to stay in Queenstown if you are looking for top drawer luxury and breathtaking views of Lake Wakatipu. It markets itself as a "resort" but it is more like a very high-end bed and breakfast. It is probably one of the more expensive options in the area but it is truly worth every penny. Azur is consistently singled out in rankings by top travel magazines as one of the very best hotels in all of New Zealand. It deserves every accolade. It is not easy to do unpretentious luxury as well as they do. Azur is truly an unforgettable place to stay in a vast sea of mediocrity.
