This is a small village called Larabanga in the northern area of Ghana, West Africa. The southern half of Ghana is more tropical and lush, while the northern half meets the bottom of the Sahel and is dry and desert-like.

About this place:

A fantastic place to spend the night. The little town of Larabanga is a wonderful stop-over, with friendly people and an 'inn' run by twin brothers. They'll provide a fire to cook dinner, and, if offered, you should accept an invitation to sleep on the flat roof of the inn. The stars are incredible. Nearby sightseeing includes Mole National Park.

The 'House of the Twins' is the home of two brothers in Larabanga, Ghana, West Africa. The home serves as a community hang out and also as an inn for backpackers who have found their way to Larabanga. The area is fairly remote, but the village is worth visiting. It is not far from Mole National Park, where elephants, baboons and other species roam freely. The people of Larabanga welcome trekkers of all kinds, and a night at the 'House of the Twins' will include warm food and friendly conversation around the fire, as well as the offer to sleep on the flat roof of the inn, which is worth doing. The stars are amazing.
