Each wall carved here narrates a story of its own. The figure in the centre here depicts one of the myriad forms of Lord Shiva from the Indian Mythology, the Ardhanareshwar (Ardha=half, nareshwar=God).

About this place:

The isle of Elephanta, near the coast of the famous city of Mumbai is visited by many domestic and foreign tourists.
