Emerald Village mine is home to the North Carolina Mining Museum and Bon Ami mine. Not far off the Blue Ridge Parkway in Little Switzerland, NC it is a wonderful stop for a day of history and trying your hand at mining. Who knows you might find something. Emeralds along with saphires, rubies, garnetts and numerous other precious gems and minerals have been found. They have experts at the sight for identifying your finds and cutting services if your lucky enough to score something valuable.
