  Talk about luck! We booked a week at Taos, and arrived a day early in New Mexico and found out it was the middle of the Balloon Festival! We got there before dawn and munched on breakfast burrittos while we waited for the sun to warm us. It was worth it to see dozens of balloons lifting off en masse from the desert floor!
