Walthamstow Stadium is THE classic greyhound race track. It's been featured in films, magazines, album covers (Blur's Parklife) and more. Sadly this greyhound racing institution will be closing its doors August 16th 2008.
We spent the day taking pictures, talking to folks, petting dogs and soaking up the stadium in all its glory. Get there while the getting is good!

If you plan on taking pictures, here are a few things to keep in mind: Hope for clear skies. Stay until it gets dark as well!
Bring a long lens.
Set your ISO high.
Unless you are used to shooting moving targets (these dogs are stupid fast) compose your shot, focus manually to a specific place and wait for the dogs to come to you. Now that I know this, I have to go back!
