The Commons is a shopping district that is a few blocks long. It has numerous stores of all types and every type of restaurant one could hope for. As advertised, it has the most restaurants per capita of any American city, even New York City.

    As a college student in Ithaca, one of my favorite places to go is the Commons. You can find almost anything there. In one shop, my friends and I found costumes for Halloween. In another, I found the perfect gift for my mother's birthday. There's every type of restaurant imaginable - from the Irish Pub I visited for my birthday to the upscale restaurant my parents took me to during their visit to a typical American burger joint. The Commons is an undiscovered gem for most in America.
